The Government of Colombia requests respect from the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez. 

Le Gouvernement de la Colombie demande du respect au Président du Venezuela, Hugo Chávez.

Bogota, Colombia, Enero 10 de 2007 - En el comunicado atribuible a la Portavoz del Secretario General de Naciones Unidas, el Secretario General acoge con satisfacción la liberación de las dos secuestradas por las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia, y espera que este gesto conduzca a la pronta liberación del resto de las personas secuestradas.

El Secretario General condena con firmeza la práctica de los secuestros, que es una flagrante violación del derecho internacional humanitario.

Geneva, 11 January 2008 - The High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Louise Arbour, welcomed the release, on 10 January, of Ms. Consuelo González de Perdomo and Ms. Clara Rojas, two hostages who had been held since 10 Septemeber 2001 and 23 February 2002 by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia ? People?s Army (FARC-EP).  The High Commissioner has called on numerous occasions for the unconditional and immediate release of all hostages in the hands of illegal armed groups in Colombia.  

Tous les groupes violents de la Colombie sont des terroristes. Les FARC sont des terroristes, l'ELN est un groupe terroriste, les paramilitaires en processus de démantèlement sont également des terroristes. Ils sont des terroristes de par leurs méthodes d'extermination d'êtres humains, parce qu'ils ils portent atteinte à une démocratie respectable.

All of the violent groups in Colombia are terrorists. FARC, ELN, and disbanding paramilitary groups, all of them are terrorists. They are terrorists because they are attempting against a respectable democracy and due to their methods of extermination of human beings.  

Colombia is a democracy which is progressing in safety for all its citizens, respectful of liberties and pluralism, eager to construct social cohesion, striving for transparency and respectful of the independence of the different institutions which make up the State.
