Remember that you can Apostille/Legalize documents yourself without third persons or previous appointment. If you wish to do so click on the “Online Apostille/Legalization” link.

The following document can only be Apostilled/Legalized through the online application system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Before you begin please read the following information that may be of your interest:

  • To start your online Apostille/Legalization you must digitalize each document in a separate .PDF file with a digital weight not exceeding 11 MB. 
  • The scanner must have a resolution in which the image is clear and the data can be easily verified.
  • If the document has information on both sides of the paper, it must be scanned in a way that both sides can be visible in the same .PDF document.
  • Only one document is allowed per request. You can Apostille/Legalize any number of documents you wish as long as each application has the corresponding document and the size does not exceed 11MB.
  • All documents must have the signature of a Public Official:
    • Issued by public authority: the signature of a public official, exercising his duties whose signature must be registered in the data base of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    • Issued by private entities: The signature of the document must be recognized by a Public Notary and his/her signature registered in the database of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • If you are located in Colombia or abroad but have an active bank account with online payments authorized in Colombia you may pay through the PSE online button.
  • If you are located in Colombia you may pay in any GNB Sudameris office or at a Servibanca ATM.
  • If you are abroad you may pay at any Colombian consulate.
  • All documents requiring translation into a language other than Spanish must be translated by an official translator whose signature must be Apostilled or Legalized. Consult here the list of official translators. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs cannot be held responsible for the quality and charges of the hired works.
