- Residence Certificates or Letters:
- Issued in Bogotá: Must be issued by the corresponding local Mayor’s office of your residence. You can request this document online through the webpage of your corresponding local Mayor’s office. The signature to be Apostilled/Legalized has to be registered in the data base of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Issued outside of Bogotá: Must be issued by the corresponding Mayor’s office of your residence or the entity delegated for such. The signature to be Apostilled/Legalized has to be registered in the data base of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Documents issued by the Family Ombudsman (Defensoría de Familia): must be signed by the Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar- ICBF.
- Documents issued by Family Commissaries in Bogotá (Comisarios de Familia): Must be signed by the Secretaría de Integración Social of the Mayor of Bogotá.
- Documents issued by Family Commissaries outside Bogotá (Comisarios de Familia): must be signed by the Mayor or the public official delegated by the Mayor for such.
- Health Documents: such as: medical certificates, clinical history, resolutions to exercise as a health professional, vaccination records must be signed by the Health Secretary in which the professional who issues the document is registered in.
- Documents issued by the Chambers of Commerce (Certificates of Existence and Legal Representation of Societies): Must be signed by the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio).
- Documents signed by judges: must be signed by the Judicial Administration Center (Centro de Administración Judicial) of the Consejo Superior de la Judicatura.
- National Military ID (Armed Forces and Police): The certification issued by the Recruitment Direction and Reserve Control is required (Dirección de Reclutamiento y Control de Reservas de la Jefatura de Reclutamiento del Ejército Nacional).
- Disciplinary Background Certificate: Issued by the Office of the Inspector General (Procuraduría General de la Nación): Obtain the document online at http://www.procuraduria.gov.co/portal/antecedentes.html. The certificate must show the full names of the holder.
- Fiscal Responsibility Backgrounds Certificate: Issued by the Office of the Comptroller General (Contraloría General de la Nación): Obtain the document online at http://www.contraloria.gov.co/ . The certificate must show the full names of the holder.
- Foreign National Criminal Background Certificate: Foreign nationals must present themselves to the SIJIN or DIJIN and request their background certificate.
