The first special temporary visa as a partner or owner of a commercial establishment or a commercial company or as owner of real property, must always be processed at Colombian consulates abroad. In all other cases, it may be granted in Bogota, providing the applicant has a valid visa.
A partner or owner of a commercial establishment or of a commercial company duly incorporated and registered with the respective chamber of commerce and with domicile in Colombia, or as an owner of real property, with proof of its acquisition through investment made in his/her name in accordance with the international exchange regime in force at the time of the application.
Requirements:
• Present Form DP-FO-67 “Application for a visa” completely filled out and signed by the foreign applicant, not by an intermediary.
• Present a valid passport or travel document, in good condition and with a minimum of two (2) blank pages.
• Two (2) 3X3 cm color photographs, front view against a white background or, in the case of applications at a Colombian Consulate, three (3) such 3X3 photographs.
• Attach a copy of the main page of the valid passport showing the holder’s personal data, of the page containing the last Colombian visa, if any, and of the page with the most recent stamp of entry or departure from Colombia, as the case may be.
• Present a valid passport or travel document, in good condition and with a minimum of two (2) blank pages.
• Two (2) 3X3 cm color photographs, front view against a white background or, in the case of applications at a Colombian Consulate, three (3) such 3X3 photographs.
• Attach a copy of the main page of the valid passport showing the holder’s personal data, of the page containing the last Colombian visa, if any, and of the page with the most recent stamp of entry or departure from Colombia, as the case may be.
In the cases of a partner or owner of a commercial establishment or commercial company.
• Balance sheets of the company, duly certified by a public accountant and, when necessary, by an auditor, attaching a valid digital certificate issued by the Central Board of Accountants (Junta Central de Contadores) and, if pertinent, a photocopy of the income tax return of the preceding tax year of the respective entity.
For the application to be admitted and a Special Temporary Visa to be issued to a Partner or Owner of a commercial establishment or commercial company, the Office responsible for issuing visas will take the activity of the company, its corporate purpose and its financial capacity into account.
The following must be attached in the case of an owner of real estate:
• A written communication, issued by the International Exchange Department of Banco de la República (Central Bank) certifying the registration of foreign direct investment for the purchase of real properties in the name of the foreign applicant for the Visa of an amount not less than one hundred thousand United States (US$100,000), in accordance with the provisions of article 12 of Decree 2622 of 2009, which amended article 41, numeral 41.3 of Decree 4000 of 2004, and in accordance with the provisions of the general foreign investment and exchange regime and with the other Colombian conforming regulations in force.
• Certificate of conveyance and freedom from encumbrance issued by the respective Public Instruments Registration Office no more than one (1) month previously certifying that the applicant is the owner of a property in Colombian territory of a value equal to that of the registered investment, which may not be less than the amount referred to in the foregoing numeral.
Note: A beneficiary’s visa may be granted to the spouse, permanent partner, parents and children who are economically dependent upon the foreign temporary visa holder as a partner or owner of the commercial establishment or commercial company, or, as owner of real property following prior proof of the relationship or kinship. In such cases, the occupation of the beneficiary may only be that of looking after the home or a student. No other occupation may be authorized.

√ Valid passport or travel document, in good condition and with a minimum of two blank pages.
√ Two (2) recent 3x3 photographs, facing the camera, in color and against a white background.
√ Civil Registration or equivalent document showing the relationship or kinship, duly legalized or with an apostille, as the case may be.
√ Documents proving the economic dependence of the beneficiary with respect to the visa holder.
√ A letter in which the visa holder assumes responsibility for the beneficiary’s stay in and departure from Colombia. In the case of minors, the application, proxy or authorization must be signed by the parents and authenticated before a notary or Colombian consul.
√ Photocopy of the holder’s valid visa.
√ When the request for a visa as a beneficiary is presented to the Visas office in Bogota, the foreign permanent partner of the visa holder must present the respective judicial decision, minute of conciliation or public deed declaring the existence of the de facto marital union in accordance with Colombian regulations, with date of issue no more than three (3) months prior to the day on which the request for a visa is presented.
