The individual abroad requiring a public deed to acknowledge a child out of wedlock, must apply for it at a Colombian Consulate.

Requirements:

• Original and photocopy of the I.D. Card of the father.
• Duly authenticated photocopy of the I.D. Card of the mother.
• Evidence of the birth of minor or Birth Certificate (authentic copy from the Registration which is kept at the office of the Notary Public).
• Receipt for the deposit of the relevant fee.

NOTE: One of the parents must be Colombian.
