Diplomatic Precedence

Precedence of the Diplomatic Corps


In Colombia, the Papal Nuncio is ranked as Dean of the Diplomatic Corps.

Precedence for the remaining ambassadors is established according to the date and time of presentation of their letters of credence to the President of the Republic. In turn, the order of presentation of letters of credence is governed by the date and time of arrival in Colombia.

The precedence of Chargés d'Affaires shall be assigned according to the date of their accreditation, as evidenced in the Diplomatic Note addressed to the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Relations. They are followed by representatives of international agencies.

In accordance with the foregoing, the rank of precedence shall be as follows:
