In order to register the birth of an individual, this procedure may be requested at a Colombian Consulate abroad.

Requirements:

• Presence of the informant and/or person to be registered.
• Original of the Certificate of Live Birth or Civil Registration of the person to be registered. The certificate or registration shall be from the place where the birth occurred.
• Identification of the parents: If Colombians, the original I.D.Card; and a photocopy of same in separate sheets.
• If one of the parents holds another nationality, the valid Passport and a copy of same.
• Blood certificate showing type and RH factor of the person to be registered.  

Fee: This service is free of charge; however, other Consular fees related to the issuance of copies of the registration are to be paid.
